This Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) Disclaimer describes how ASSITEJ South Africa collects, processes, and discloses your personal information, specifically in relation to our website and our membership and newsletter sign-up forms.
We respect your right to privacy and therefore aim to ensure that we comply with the legal requirement of the POPI Act, which regulates the manner in which we collect, process, store, share and destroy any personal information which you have provided to us. You hereby acknowledge that you have read and accept the terms of this POPIA Disclaimer.
For the purposes of this Disclaimer, personal information shall bear the same meaning as defined in POPIA.
Why we collect Personal Information:
We collect personal information in order to liaise with you telephonically, via our website or email so that we may:

- Enlist you as a member of ASSITEJ South Africa;

- Provide a platform for all artists working in the arts with/for/by children and young people to connect with one another and build networks and supportive ecosystems;
- To consider applications received in respect of projects, programmes, memberships, productions, and other aspects of our work;
- Enable us to process, validate and verify information and requests for the supply of goods and/or services;
- For the purposes for which you specifically provided the information;
- Generally, to improve your experience on our website and as a member / partner / funder / supporter of our work.

- In order to comply with applicable law or with legal process served on our organisation;
- In order to protect and defend the rights or property of our organisation;
- With your consent, in order to provide you with further opportunities or connections.
